A bell jangles;
A mind jumps;
A thousand people
walk in circles.
What's your next class?
I don't know
until I get there.

that ring?
to tell you
married,
school ring
tomorrow,
family heirloom:
and gave it to me.
my knuckles
I fight.
I earned;
more power.
Words are
dried leaves scraping across a road
in a fat wind.
Rings are words;
They symbolize actions,
never supplant them.
Where do I fit?
Do I travel in circles?
Am I a ringleader?
Or do I have a ring through my nose?

Am I as tenuous as the morning
frost?
Or am I as solid as a giant tree?
Will I die?
Or will I run rings around everybody?
Fate is Wyrd:
A smuggler's ring,
transporting souls
across discord:
life.
The diversions!
Smashing, clattering, and yet
ordered.
The sports, the games
Take courage, strength, and intelligence.
Microcosms of life itself.
A boxing ring
on an infinitely larger scale.
/ have a ringside seat at the arena;
The ringmaster cracks a
Tight whip.

My voice rings out
in ever expanding circles
My influence is a stone thrown
in a calm lake;
My waves will reach the other
shore:
I will be heard!
Rings of Gold, Rings of Fire;
With life yet ringing in my ears
I perceive a bell's knell.

A few classic plays off the field
are worth remembering: "Forward
Roll" Tom Murphy; Tom "Stump"
Lasordo's immortal "Father John-
son" . You who didn't play with us
won't get the full significance, but
each holds a special place in the
minds and hearts of our football
team.
A few quotes from the Great
One: YO . . . AH! . . . COME ON
. . . YOU BETCHA BELIEVE IT!

'PA UL REVERE"
SONS OF LIBERTY BOWL
The original Bowl was made by Paul Revere, a great
patriot and skilled silversmith, in the year 1768. Later,
an exact replica was ordered by the Fifteen Sons of
Liberty whose names were engraved around the original
Bowl and it memorialized the vehement protest of the
Massachusetts General Court to the Government in London
against their oppressive and arbitrary acts. The British
ordered our court to rescind their protest but they refused
to do so by a vote of 92 to 17. The Bowl was used at
every meeting of the Sons of Liberty for many years.
The purchase of the original bowl from a private
source was made possible by contributions from school
children, private parties and by the Museum of Fine Arts
of Boston, Mass. where it is now on public exhibition in
the main rotunda.
. The famous Bowl has the following inscription on its
side. "To the memory of the glorious ninety- two mem-
bers of the House of Representatives of Massachusetts
Bay, who, undaunted by the insolent menaces of the
Villians in Power, from a strict regard to Conscience and
the Liberties of their constituents, on the 30th of June,
1768, voted NOT TO RESCIND."

This picture is taken from one of the 50 originals made during the Civil War.
It marked the first use of composite photograph processing, and it is one of
the very few photographs in existence of this famous group of men.
